Goals Galore

The Men were at home this Saturday in a busy day at Titwood with 5 games played at Titwood, In the main game PSL Clydesdale 1s won 5-0 vs Edinburgh Uni. The score was only 1-0 a half time and the students were playing well but the Men kept the pace high to the end of the match and eventually won 5-0. Goals from Rory McCann, Ciaran Crawford (2), Gregor Hirst and Ross Mcpherson. The clean sheet was the teams first of the year and well earned by Andrew Scobie who had several great saves to keep the Students at bay.

Milne Craig Clydesdale Western were away at GHK and won 12-0 in a one sided game. There were hat-tricks from Holly Cram and Nicky Skrastin, and 2 for Fiona Bruce and Cat Ralph and 1 each from Morag McLellan and Anna-Mae Morton.

M2s played a very young Western Wildcats 2s team and ran out 6-0 winners and M3s also at home won 4-1 vs Watsonians 2s. The M5s won 6-3 against M6s at Craigholme and in the early start M4s lost 0-5 to a powerful Hillhead 3s team.

Milne Craig Clydesdale Western 2s won 8-0 against Glasgow Accies on the new pitch at Windyedge and 3s won 5-3 at home vs Stirling Wanderers.

First team draw with Kelburne

PSL Clydesdale fought out a hard earned draw with Kelburne today at Titwood. In a fast paced game there were chances at each end before Ciaran Crawford opened the scoring from a short corner midway through the half. Kelburne were spurred into increased action and Clydesdale failed to clear a cross from the right which was volleyed towards goals before appearing to strike a defender. Mark Ralph scored the resulting penalty flick. 1-1 at half time. Clydesdale started second half well and soon forced a short corner which this time was converted by Andrew Allan. The lead was short lived as a cross from the left was deflected into his own net by Michael McKenzie. The games continued to be fast and furious and both teams had spells defending with 10 as first Fraser Hirst and then Adam Bain picked up yellows cards. Despite a late short corner to Clydesdale and both teams best efforts there were no more goals.

First Teams both win

Clydesdale Western defeated Dundee Wanderers 5-2 in the sunshine at Titwood this afternoon. A confident performance saw goals rattle in from Jenny Eadie and Holly Cram twice for a 3-0 half time lead. Holly completed her hatrick and Anna Mae Morton scored in the second half before the visitors responded with two late goals.

At Peffermill the Men were in a fourteen goal thriller vs Inverleith winning 8-6! Ciaran bagged 4 supported by 2 from Rory McCann and a goal each for Fraser and Gregor Hirst. The Men have game tomorrow vs Kelburne at Titwood 3.30 push – please come and watch.

Ladies 2s won comfortably 7-0 vs Stirling Wanderers and the Mens 2s won 5-1 vs Edinburgh Uni 3s with hat-trick for in-form Gordon Munro.

M4s shared the points with Kelburne 4s 4-4 and M3s went down 1-3 vs Clydeside 1s.

 

Busy Weekend

It is a very busy weekend at Titwood which promises some great hockey. There are four home games this  Saturday. The M4s start things off vs Kelburne 4s at 11.30 followed by the L2s vs Stirling Wanderers at 1.00 before the Clydesdale Western First team play Dundee Wanderers at 2.30. Finally Cumbernauld visit the L4s in the last game at 4.00pm. The men’s First are away at Peffermill vs Inverleith at 3.00 and the M2s are at the same venue playing Edin. Uni 3s. The M3s are away to Clydeside.

There are games on Sunday too with  the highlight being PSL Clydesdale  playing  Kelburne at 3.3o preceded by M6s are on at 12.30 vs Clydeside 2  and the L6s are on at 2.00 vs Hillhead 2s. M5s are away to Rottenrow 3s at Glasgow Green.

Men draw with Menzieshill

The First team secured a 3-3 draw with League Leaders Menzieshill. Ciaran Crawford gave the boys a 2-0 lead but the visitors scored just before half time from a penalty stroke. The visitors equalised after the restart but Ciaran completed his hat-trick to re-gain the lead. Menzieshill continued to be dangerous and scored with a fast break to tie the scores again with 15 minutes to go. Neither team were able to find a winner.

Earlier in the day the 2s overcame Inverleith 2s 6-1, Leo Howes scored two goals of the goals, his first for the club. The 2s move up to third in their League.
