Both Clydesdale M1s and Clydesdale Western L1s play away to Grove Menzieshill’s Men’s and Women’s 1st XI at DISC in National League Division One action on Saturday. The L1s are up first, fresh from their vital and hopefully season changing win against Western Wildcats. The big games continue to come thick and fast as their opponents, Grove, are the only unbeaten side left in the Women’s National Division One this season. A win would not only continue ‘Dale Western’s rise up the league, but will also open the competition in Division One. 2.30pm pushback for the L1s, before the M1s take on Menzieshill M1s at 4.15pm. The M1s will be hoping to bounce back from last weekend’s narrow defeat to Western Wildcats, and a win here could see them leapfrog their Dundee opponents in the Men’s National Division One table. The last time the two met, the M1s won 4-3, with Danny Cain scoring a treble in a superb contest at Auchenhowie.
In the rest of the day’s play, the M2s have a top of the table clash with an experienced Hillhead 2s side from 4.30pm at Titwood. A win coupled with other results elsewhere could see the M2s top of Regional Division One by the end of the day. The L2s play before at 3.00pm as they hope to continue their 100% league form with a win against Haddington 1s. The L3s are the first game of the day at home from 1.30pm with the visitors being Stirling University 1s. The M3s face a potentially tricky away fixture against Ayr 1s (4.00pm pushback) whilst the M4s play away to Helensburgh 3s at 12.45pm. The L4s, L5s and L6s are also away to Glasgow University 2s, Dumfries 2s and Arran 1s respectively (pushback times TBC).
Best of luck to our teams this weekend, especially those making the long journeys!
