Post: Weekend Preview – 14th/15th December

With outdoor hockey completed for 2019, our latest ‘Weekend Preview’ takes focus on National League indoor – as all four Clydesdale & Clydesdale Western teams are in action. Three make the trip to Perth, whilst the other is heading to Dundee.

Clydesdale Men’s 1s enter their second week of indoor hockey in Men’s National Division One with a triple header at Bell’s Sports Centre, Perth on Saturday.

The M1s already have a point to their name, following last week’s draw with Grange, and will be keen to add to their league tally going into Saturday’s matches at Bell’s. First up for Neil Mitchell’s side is an 11.05am pushback against last season’s champions, Western Wildcats 1s.

From 2.45pm, the Titwood boys then take on Uddingston 1s before completing their card of games with the tough test of Inverleith 1s – who will be one of the favourites for the top prize this season – from 4.35pm.

Clydesdale Men’s 2s get their Men’s Central Division season started on Saturday with two games, starting from 10.10am at Perth College.

The M2s start with the unknown as they play Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland ASHC 1s, who are a new entry into the Central Division, believed to be for its very first time.

Hillhead 2s are the final opponents of the day for the Men’s 2s from 2.45pm.

Clydesdale Western 1s, like the Men’s 1s, have a triple billing of indoor matches in Women’s National Division One at Bell’s Sports Centre on Sunday.

The L1s were one of three teams that won their matches on the opening weekend last Sunday. And Wendy Justice’s side take on the other two this Sunday.

Before that, however, the Titwood girls play Grange EL 1s from 9.15am. ‘Dale Western will then face their sternest test when they go head to head with Dundee Wanderers 1s – a meeting of both Play-Off Finalists from the past two seasons – from 1.50pm. Both sides won their opening games last Sunday. Inverleith 1s, who also have a 100% record going into Sunday’s matches, are the final game for the L1s for a 4.35pm PB.

Meanwhile, Clydesdale Western 2s have an early start at Dundee International Sports Centre (DISC) in Women’s National Division Two.

The L2s will hope to build on a decent start last weekend when they play Dundee Wanderers 2s at 9.15am. Their second and final game of the day begins from 12.00 noon against CALA Edinburgh 1s.
