As of 6.00pm on Friday 20th November, Clydesdale & Clydesdale Western Hockey Club will be impacted by the switch to Tier 4 restrictions as imposed by the Scottish Government.
The club wants to make everyone aware of the rule changes and how that will impact training schedules across the club.
The updated restrictions applicable to our training sessions are the same as in Tier 3 with the following amendments:
Both adults and U18s need to adhere to the 2m physically distance rule whilst on the pitch as well as off it. This will effectively mean that all hockey training sessions will require everyone to adhere to the same rule at all times.
Travel is not permitted outside of your council area. This means that if you live outside of the Glasgow City Council area, you should not attend training sessions.
If you need to check whether you are allowed to travel for training, please use the ScotGov Postcode checker which will confirm whether you are inside or outside of Glasgow City Council area.
What training will be available?
Friday Night Junior Hockey – ‘Jockey’
The club has made the decision to cancel ‘Jockey’ on Friday 20th November. This session was to be the last before the winter break. ‘Jockey’ is scheduled to restart on 22nd January 2021, but our ‘Jockey’ Coordinators will review whether it is possible to start a week earlier based on guidance at the time. All information regarding this will be communicated out to ‘Jockey’ attendees.
Under 18 Junior & Senior Performance
Under 18 Junior & Senior Performance sessions are organised by invite only as per the Player Pathway and will continue to run on an amended schedule. Ladies Club Night (Monday’s)/Men’s Club Night (Wednesdays)
Both sections club nights will continue to run and be reviewed on a weekly basis. We would normally finish up around the beginning of December but our coaches are keen to keep the sessions running for as long as the Scottish weather allows.
Adult Only Training (Saturday)
There will be an additional Saturday session for adults only on Saturday afternoon’s from 1.00pm-2.30pm. Spaces will be limited, so if you wish to book a slot, please contact Rachel Brewer for Ladies and Karl Richmond for Men. Spaces will be reserved on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis. Again, our coaches are happy to run these sessions for as long as possible and it will be reviewed on a weekly basis.

The club would like to say a massive thank you to all of our coaches who have made it possible to keep as many of our sessions available as possible.
