Post: U18 Boys Indoor Cup

Final February 9th Perth.

The boys contested the u18s Cup Final vs Grange in the showcase game at Perth. The boys went down 1-0 early on to a Murdo Elwis goal but Murray Collins equalised. Hamish Imrie put Grange in front before Murray and Patrick Lonergan put Clydesdale up 3-2, but unfortunately that was as good as it got as Grange took their chances and scored their corners to run out 5-3 with more goals from Imrie, Elwis and Gough. Highlights of the game are on youtube .

Team – Gordon Clark, Gordon Amour, Murray Collins, John Joe Lonergan, Patrick Lonergan, Jock Breckenridge, Archie Breckenridge, Chris McFadden, Antony Small. (James Nairn played in qualifying)

13 January Qualifying – Perth

Clydesdale won their first 2 games vs Gordonians 4-2 and  Dundee Wanderers 7-2 meant they were through to the semi-final regardless of the result in the last game vs Watsonians which was a 5-5 draw. Who would it be in the semi-final, Kelburne or Grange? Grange won the decisive game 8-5 leaving Kelburne to qualify as runners up and play Clydesdale in the semi.

The semi was a tense affair – never more than 2 goals in it Clydesdale never conceded the lead and eventually won through  8-7. Our second final in three years. Grange won their semi also in a close match 5-4 vs Watsonians.
