Scottish Hockey have announced new guidelines for training on Friday 9th October.
The latest guidelines can be found here. Following Scottish Government’s announcement, senior contact sport is not permitted. As a result, hockey matches for those over the age of 18 are not allowed and the leagues which were due to start on 17th October or 24th October have been delayed.
Those over 18 can, however, train as long as they are observing 2m distancing. Following this advice the club has revised its training schedule for the next two weeks and the schedule can be found here.
We have reduced the number of people on the pitch at any one time to make physical spacing easier and reduce any potential risks. This decision means there will be less sessions available overall until further notice.
Please also note, that for the areas in Scotland which have higher government restrictions, there are specific travel restrictions in place. In these areas you are advised not to travel outside your local health board area. Glasgow Health Board covers Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, Glasgow City and East & West Dunbartonshire.
If you intend to train, please remember the COVID protocols. Do not attend if you have any symptoms, don’t attend if you share a household with someone with symptoms, or is awaiting a test or is self isolating. If you have any doubts, then our advice would be to avoid training.
Kind Regards
