The club are delighted at the large number of Clydesdale Western’s 1st XI players selected for Scotland Senior Women’s squads.
1st XI captain Ali Howie, Heather Howie, Millie Brown, Jen Eadie and Lucy Lanigan have been selected for Scotland’s warm weather training camp in Gran Canaria, which begins tomorrow (13th January). The camp will be used to select the squad for the Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast in 2018. Scotland will play Wales in five games during the training camp in Gran Canaria.

In addition, Scotland Women will compete at the EuroHockey Indoor Championship II in Brussels. Amongst the selected squad are ‘Dale Western players Frances Lonergan and Ali Eadie. The tournament will be held from the 19-21 January and will see the Scotland take on Wales, Belgium and Croatia in Pool B before crossover matches to determine qualification and relegation positions.
