Saturday saw Milne Craig Clydesdale Western win the Scottish Cup with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Dundee rivals Grove Menzieshill.
Grove took an early lead through Ali Bell who had been set up by Pauline Stott. Fiona Bruce equalised converting a short corner but Sarah Jamieson put Grove back in front.
This seemed to galvanise Clydesdale Western who started to take a firmer grip of the game and goals from Ali Howie, Millie Brown and a second for Fiona Bruce put the girls 4-2 in front. Grove responded and Linda Clement knocked in a rebound from a short corner to set up a tense finish.
Grove pressed for the equaliser and with only 36 seconds left were awarded a penalty stroke for a push on an attacker. Lousie Duffy became the hero of the moment saving Louise Carrol’s flick. Clydesdale Western successfully saw out the remaining seconds to regain the cup.
