On Saturday, Clydesdale Men’s 1st XI return to outdoor league action against champions Kelburne at Glasgow Green, 1.30pm pushback. The 1s have lost their last five league games, which has left them 8th in the Men’s National Division One table. The last time the two sides met, ‘Dale pegged back a two goal deficit but eventually succumbed to a 6-3 defeat to the Paisley side.
Clydesdale Western 1st XI face Kelburne Women’s 1st XI straight after the Men’s 1s, 3.00pm pushback at Glasgow Green. ‘Dale Western 1s, who beat Kelburne 5-0 in the team’s previous meeting this season, are aiming to keep in touch with Women’s National Division One league leaders Edinburgh University.
In the rest of the weekend’s games, the M2s face Grove Menzieshill 2s at Forthbank (1.30pm PB). The M2s are hoping to keep up their league challenge with a win against Menzieshill – the M2s won 3-2 in the first game of the season between the two sides. The M3s also play at 1.30pm, but at home to Men’s West District Division One league leaders Uddingston 3s. Both sides have already played each other in league and cup this season – Uddy won 7-2 in the league, before the M3s won by the exact same scoreline in the cup. The M4s are away to Greenock 2s on Sunday from 1.00pm and the M5s play at home to Giffnock 3s, 12.00 noon pushback.
The L2s are at home to CALA Edinburgh 2s at 3.00pm. Much like the M2s, the L2s are aiming to be champions of the Championship League Division One table by the end of the season. The L2s beat CALA 2s 9-1 in the season’s opening game. The L3s visit Waverley Inveresk Trinity, 1.30pm PB whilst the L4s play at home to Glasgow University 2s from 4.30pm. The L5s & L6s have double headers this weekend. The L5s play at Hutchesons Grammar School against Dumfries 2s (3.00pm PB) on Saturday, then away to Irvine 1s on Sunday (1.00pm PB). The L6s, on Saturday, are also at Hutchie against Arran 1s (1.30pm PB) before playing at the exact same time on Sunday away to Stepps 2s.
We’d like to wish the best of luck to all of our teams, especially to those in their first outdoor game back!
