Post: Weekend Preview – 11th November

Plenty of action on Saturday and Sunday for our Clydesdale and Clydesdale Western teams.

M1s vs. Dundee Wanderers M1s (2.00pm, A); M2s vs. Grange 2s (5.00pm, H); M3s vs. Dumfries 1s (2.00pm, H); M4s vs. Giffnock 2s (12.00 noon, A); M5s vs. Dumfries 2s (12.30pm, H)

L1s vs. Dundee Wanderers L1s (12 noon, A – Sunday); L2s vs. Watsonians 2s (4.00pm, A); L3s vs. George Heriots FP 1s (3.30pm, H); L4s vs. Giffnock 1s (1.30pm, A); L5s vs. L6s (2.00pm, H – HGS)

On Saturday, Clydesdale 1st XI take on Dundee Wanderers at Dalnacraig from 2.00pm.  After a decent start to the season, the M1s have suffered three league defeats in a row and are in danger of finding themselves in a relegation play off place before the outdoor season pauses for the indoor season.  Their opponents, Dundee Wanderers have picked up some impressive results this season, which included a 4-0 win against Hillhead early in the season, so the M1s will have to be on top of their game when the two meet.  A win for Clydesdale would open up a four point gap between themselves and Wanderers, whereas a win for the home side could see them leapfrog ‘Dale.

Clydesdale Western 1st XI face Dundee Wanderers Ladies 1st XI on Sunday at noon and also at Dalnacraig.  A win would be welcoming for the L1s in their pursuit of Edinburgh Uni at the top of the Women’s National Division One table.  Whereas, a Wanderers win could see them go above ‘Dale Western in the league.

In the rest of Saturday’s games, the M2s are aiming to keep hold of top spot in the Regional Division One league table as they face last season’s champions Grange 2s from 5.00pm at Titwood.  The L2s are hoping for similar in the Championship Division One as they visit Watsonians 2s at George Watson’s College at 4,00pm.  The M3s and M5s have visits from Dumfries 1st and 2nd XI teams.  The M5s start at 12.30pm, whilst the M3s pushback at 2.00pm.  The M4s could open up a 13 point lead at the top of the West District Men’s Division 3 table as they play away to 2nd placed Giffnock 2s at Eastwood High from 12 noon.  The L4s play straight after from 1.30pm against Giffnock Ladies 1s.  Both teams are sitting at the bottom of the West District Ladies Division One table, with five losses from their five games, so a win for L4s would be ideal.  The L5s take on the L6s at 2.00pm on Hutchesons’ Grammar School’s pitch.

Best of luck to all of our teams this weekend!
