Post: Mixed fortunes at Glasgow Green

Milne Craig Clydesdale Western lost their table top clash vs Grove Menzieshill 3-1. Grove were 2-0 up before Holly Cram pulled on back but Grove remained strong and scored again before the end. On the Sunday the Ladies won comfortably 7-0 against Kelburne 1sts.

It was mixed fortune to for the Men. A slow start saw Dundee Wanderers go 2-0 up within ten minutes on Saturday , the Men stayed focused and pulled the two goals back in the second half. More chances were created but it wasn’t to be and the Men had to settle for a draw. On Sunday the Men won 4-3 vs Western Wildcats. In a frantic start Clydesdale had most of the possession but Wildcats were very dangerous on the attack when they had the opportunity and a slip by Neil Fulton let Scott McCartney set up Dougie Simpson for the first goal. Clydesdale came back and created several chances before a quickly taken free hit was worked to the back post for Michael Cockburn to equalise.  The game remained at a frantic pace and Rory McCann made a great led in the box and was bundled over by Mansouri for a penalty stroke, converted by Fraser Hirst. Western came back with a fast flowing passing move which saw an easy tap in for Scott McCartney. The pace did not drop into the final quarter of the game and Western converted a short corner for a 3-2 lead . Clydesdale were able to convert their own short corner to equalise before Ciaran Crawford’s dive diverted a great cross from Rory McCann for a 4-3 win.
