Post: Clydesdale Western will fight for 3rd place on Gala day

The young Clydesdale Western indoor team lost in the semi final of Division One  Indoor play-offs losing 2-8 to reigning champions Dundee Wanderers.

With the senior internationalists unavailable this season due to outdoor commitments the tea has had a new look to it and the team have been very impressive all season. They will take on Edinburgh University at Bells Sport Centre, Perth next Saturday to decide 3rd and 4th places in the League.

The men’s first team  have finished their indoor season finishing 5th following a 8-6 win vs. Hillhead at DISC on Saturday safely retaining First Division status and  they won’t be involved in the Gala day.

To complete the round up – Clydesdale Western 2s finished a creditable 4th in Women’s National Division 2 but the Men’s 2s finished bottom in National Division 3s and will be relegated to the regional indoor leagues next year.

On a brighter note the Men’s 3s team won the West District Indoor League at Lagoon on Sunday. The final was against local rivals and holders Kelburne and the team ran out 13-3 winners. The ‘Dale team was unbeaten all season. Special mention to the youngsters Ben Galloway , Ethan Robertson  and Owen Gould who made a big contribution to the team.
