Post: 5/5 Clydesdale in play-off games

Clydesdale men face Watsonians tomorrow 13.00 at Glasgow Green in a relegation play-off.  The winner will be safe in Division One and the loser will play tomorrow against either Inverleith or Hillhead at 12.00 noon Glasgow Green.

Clydesdale’s last match was vs Hillhead on 22nd April . A win for either side would have meant they avoided the play offs. Clydesdale scored first with a short corner from Danny Cain and remained in control for most of the first half.  Clydesdale were unfortunate when a they appeared to have scored a second only for it to be voided by a third party obstruction noticed by the disengaged umpire.

Second half was more even but Clydesdale had several short corners but the Hillhead defence held firm. Clydesdale had a great shout for a penalty flick when Jack Jamieson appeared to be pushed in the act of shooting but nothing was awarded and shortly after Hillhead scored after a rebound.

Despite both teams efforts the score remain at 1-1 and the draw meant three teams finished the league  tied on 18 points. It was Edinburgh Uni who avoided the play offs with a better goal difference and both Hillhead and Clydesdale face games in the playoffs.
