Post: Wins for L4s, 5s & 6s outdoor, season begins indoor – Weekend Review – 2nd/3rd December

L3s 1-5 Grove Menzieshill 2s (L Arnold)

Clydesdale Western 3s signed off for the outdoor break with a defeat to a clinical Grove Menzieshill 2s side at DISC on Saturday.

A goal from Lucy Arnold was somewhat of a consolation as the L3s lost out 5-1, and missed out on the chance to close the gap on 3rd place Edinburgh University 3s in the Championship League table.  The L3s sit 4th with 18 points going into indoor.

L4s 2-1 Western Wildcats 2s (I Cole, O Capaldi)

The L4s picked up their third win in a row as they edged out Western Wildcats 2s at Titwood.

The L4s still remain 9th in the Women’s West District Division One table, but they continue to close the gap on a few teams above them as goals from Iris Cole and Olivia Capaldi gave them their first home win of the season.

L5s 3-2 Stepps 2s (J Kelly (2), E Neary)

The L5s kept up their hopes of promotion from Women’s West District Division 3 as they narrowly beat Stepps 2s at Millerston.

A double from Jessica Kelly and one from Emma Neary gave the L5s their fifth win of the season.  The L5s remain 5th, but have at least two games in hand which could see them in 2nd if they pick up maximum points.

L6s 3-1 Dumfries 2s (I Denholm, G Schmolke, A Bonner)

Goals from youngsters Iona Denholm, Georgia Schmolke and Anais Bonner were enough to beat Dumfries 2s and secure back-to-back league wins.

Following on from their impressive win at Irvine last weekend, the L6s made it two from two to take them to 8th in the Women’s West District 3 table and give them some welcome breathing space.

Indoor – M2s 16-0 Falkirk & Linlithgow 2s; M2s 5-4 Edinburgh University 2s; L1s 16-0 Kelburne 1s; L1s 4-5 Dundee Wanderers 1s; L2s 2-6 Bon Accord 1s; L2s 2-5 Grange EL 1s

The indoor season also begin on Saturday & Sunday with mixed starts for our Clydesdale and Clydesdale Western teams.

The M2s picked up two wins on their return to the Central indoor league as they hammered Falkirk & Linlithgow 2s 16-0 before narrowly beating Edinburgh University 2s 5-4 at Forthbank.

The L1s, at Bell’s Sports Centre on Sunday, also hammered a youthful Kelburne side 16-0.  But in contrast to the M2s, they lost their second game 5-4, to arguably the league favourites, Dundee Wanderers in the opening weekend of fixtures in the Women’s National Division One league.  The L2s, also at Bell’s on Sunday, lost their opening two games 2-6 and 2-5 to Bon Accord and Grange EL respectively.
