Post: Weekend Preview – 18th November

Nine of our eleven Clydesdale and Clydesdale Western teams all away on Saturday, with plenty of big tests up and down the teams.

L1s vs. Grange EL 1s (3.40pm, A); L2s vs. Edinburgh Uni 3s (3.30pm, H); L3s vs. CALA Edinburgh 2s (2.00pm, A); L4s vs. Glasgow Accies 1s (1.30pm, A); L5s vs. GHK 3s (2.00pm, A); L6s vs. Ferguslie 1s (2.00pm, H)

M1s vs. Grange 1s (2.00pm, A); M2s vs. Grange 3s (1.30pm, A); M3s vs. GHK 2s (4.30pm, A); M4s vs. Western Wildcats 4s (4.30pm, A); M5s vs. East Kilbride 2s (1.00pm, A)

Clydesdale Western 1st XI visit Grange EL 1s at Fettes College from 3.40pm in their attempts to keep up the pace with league leaders, Edinburgh Uni in the Women’s National Division One table.  ‘Dale Western easily beat Grange EL 7-1 on the opening day of the season, and will certainly be hoping to continue their good run of league form in recent months before the season closes off for indoor.  The L1s currently sit 3rd whilst their opponents from Edinburgh currently sit six places below them in 9th.

The Men’s 1st XI also take on Grange’s Men’s 1s at Fettes College, 2.00pm pushback.  Clydesdale have had a poor run of league form recently – losing four games on the bounce.  And it does not get any easier as they visit Grange, who sit top of the Men’s National Division One table, with ‘Dale currently 8th.  The last time the two met in the season’s opener, Grange ran out 4-0 winners, so the boys will certainly need to be on their game if they are to take anything from it.

The remaining four men’s teams are all away from home on Saturday.  The M2s take on Grange 3s at Edinburgh Academy, 1.30pm pushback.  The M2s currently lead the Regional Division One table, but can not take anything for granted as their only loss of the season came at the hands of Grange 3s back in September.  The M3s will hope to return to winning ways following their defeat to Dumfries last weekend.  They play GHK 2s at Old Anniesland from 4.30pm – the M3s beat GHK 2s 2-0 in the season’s opener.  The M4s face Western Wildcats 4s, 3.30pm pushback at Auchenhowie.  The M4s lead the West District Division 3 table by ten points, and have already beaten Wildcats 4s at the beginning of the season.  The M5s only league win of the season came against their opponents, East Kilbride 2s, also in opening game of the season.  They play away at Duncanrig High School at 1.00pm.

The L2s, aiming to remain top of the Championship Division One table, play at home to Edinburgh Uni 3s at 3.30pm.  In the same competition, the L3s are away to CALA Edinburgh 2s at Meggetland, 2.00pm start.  The L4s, fresh from their first points of the season, visit Glasgow Accies from 1.30pm.  The L5s are also away at Old Anniesland from 2.00pm against GHK 3s, whilst the L6s play at home to Ferguslie 1s, 2.00pm pushback.

Best of luck to all of our teams this weekend, especially the nine teams playing away from home!
