Clydesdale & Clydesdale Western Junior Hockey
Below is a summary of the sessions available. The sessions are designed to be appropriate for players of all abilities including beginners as well as intermediate and more advanced players. The sessions are run by experience qualified coaches and emphasis is placed on enjoyment and participation.
There are four one hour sessions for the following age groups:
5:00-6:00pm: Up to Primary 4
6:00-7:00pm: P5 and P6
7:00-8:00pm: P7 and S1
8:00-9:00pm: S2- S6
These sessions will start on Friday 1st September 2017.
The club also offers junior hockey on Wednesday at Titwood from 6:00pm-7:30pm. This session is split into different groups to cover all age groups.
The club runs indoor “pay as you go” sessions at Shawlands Academy from 5:30pm-7:30pm. There are split into two hourly classes (5:30pm-6:30pm & 6:30pm-7:30pm). These run throughout the year during school term time.
Clydesdale & Clydesdale Western participates in juniors hockey festivals organised by the West District. There are eight Sundays for each age group (four before Christmas and four in the spring). The dates will be published soon and posted to the website and social media when they become available. If you wish to participate, please tick the ‘Sunday Junior “Mini” Hockey Festivals’ box on the registration form (at the very end of the form). Russell Bradley is the co-ordinator for these events and can be contacted via e-mail: here. Even if you have registered for earlier years, please re-register for the current season, so we have your up to date details. After completing the form, you will see a confirmation screen confirming the details have been received – the system does not send a confirmation email.
As an amateur sports club, we require support from volunteers to operate. We are interested in hearing from anyone who could help with the registration desk on Friday evenings, and to help to administer teams on Sunday mornings. There are many other areas where help would be appreciated, including communications and administration. If you would like to help, please get in touch: firstname.lastname@example.org
You can also provide support to the club financially. There are sponsor and advertising opportunities at the club and all proceeds would be greatly appreciated and re-invested in the club’s future. If interested, please contact: email@example.com
The dates for Friday and Wednesday sessions are shown in the appendix below:
Fees – 2017-18
Fees for this year shall be as follows:
Up to P6: £105.00
P7 – S1: £115.00
S2 – S6 (U18s): £125.00
If you have two or more children, you should consider a Family Membership of Clydesdale Cricket Club. The fee for two non–playing adults joining as Family Members is £230 and any children aged under 18 years will be added as juniors at no extra cost. As this is an adult membership, we will need details of the adults joining as well as the children.
The cost for family membership with one adult playing member is £375.00.
We would prefer to receive subscriptions by bank transfer, but you also may pay by cheque.
If paying via bank transfer, please contact the club and we’ll forward the bank details to you.
We do not require the kids to wear specific club kit while training. Children must wear gum shields and shin guards at all times, and if they are playing competitive games representing the club game this is mandatory. Training tops in navy or orange are available to purchase – for more information regarding this, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org. If avoidable, we would prefer if junior members did not wear their school kit.
The club posts regular information on Twitter, Facebook or the club website to help communication. The Twitter names to follow are: @dale_western and @ClydesdaleHC. The Facebook page can be found here. Please note, in the scenario of inclement weather, we may have to cancel sessions at short notice and we do ask for your understanding if this situation occurs. Notice of cancellations and other events added to the programme will be posted on Twitter and Facebook as soon as possible, so please follow if you have both social media outlets.
Code of Conduct
It is vital for everyone’s enjoyment and safety that the children behave whilst on and off the pitch. This includes doing what is asked of them and paying attention to what is going on. We will not tolerate instances of bullying, verbal abuse, bad language and general disobedience. If a child has to be spoken to on more than two occasions, he/she may be asked to leave. We ask for your support in ensuring that all the children and those who give their time to coach them enjoy their sessions at the club.
Please be aware that it is the parent’s responsibility to ensure the safe collection of their children from the premises at the end of sessions.
The club has a child protection policy . A copy of the policy can be accessed on this link.
If you have any further queries, please contact the Junior Hockey Section by email: email@example.com
I wish you an enjoyable season of hockey.
