Clydesdale's Aims

  • Clydesdale Hockey Club is active at promoting the sport of hockey to as many young people as possible. The Club actively supports local community clubs and teams based at the local schools and encourages the take up of the sport where a tradition of hockey playing may or may not exist.
  • Clydesdale Hockey Club supports community hockey clubs at various schools and academys and would be very interested in supporting other groups wishing to start playing hockey in the south side of the city.
  • The Club actively supports the efforts of the SHU West District by entering teams in junior outdoor hockey festivals and indoor competitions that run throughout the season. The schedule of these events are detailed below on this page.
  • The club also works closely with Glasgow City Council, School of Sport and Scottish Hockey Union to achieve the highest standards we can.
  • All of our coaches are qualified or are working towards a qualification. Combining qualification with experience produces the best possible learning environment for children to learn. Safety is paramount as expressed in our Child Protection Policy.
  • Whilst we are doing all of the above we remember that FUN is very important. We try our best to ensure playing hockey at Clydesdale is FUN as well as a learning and achieving experience. We provide the opportunity to be the best you can be.
