'Dale Men's 1st team win Presidents Cup

On a fresh (well cold) Saturday afternoon on 7th November the mighty 'Dale won the Cup Final. It was an impressive display and a crowd of over 50 enjoyed the spectical. The Dale fans outnumbered the Grange fans by a ratio of 15 to 1. I am sure this support helped the boys to victory! We hope this is the first of more to come over the next few seasons.

Huge Loss

It is with profound sadness that we have to announce the death of David Rutherglen at the age of 56, following a long battle against cancer. At various times, 'Rugs'  was chairman of hockey, chairman of cricket and President of the Club. He played in the men's hockey 1st team for many years. He also played for the club in five (cricket) Scottish Cup finals, winning two of them. 'Rugs' was responsible for one of the 1st hockey club web sites in the country. He knew he had to put content in that would attract people to the web site. The site started in 1990’s provided as brief introduction, directions to the club, details of the league program, a fun section, joining information but most importantly links to other hockey web sites and a directory of emails for other hockey clubs and associations. This made the site a valued source of contacts.

David's funeral took place on Tuesday (22 February) at 11.30 at the Linn Crematorium, followed by a reception within Clydesdale clubhouse. A large turnout filled the crematorium to say fairwell to David and back at the 'Dale made it a celebration to "Rugs" life and how he had touched us all. There were representatives from Greenock and Kelburne clubs that joined with us.
